Strengthen and Tone—Mindfully
In this 90-minute workshop, with breath awareness and wise effort as our foundation,we will explore
a variety of sequences and postures designed to address stretching, strengthening, and toning the
main muscle groups that comprise our stability and power center—a.k.a., 'the core'—particularly:
- Rectus Abdominus,
- the Obliques,
- the Pelvic Floor,
- Hip Flexors,
- and, our dear friend, Gluteus Maximus
We will practice mindfully (and joyfully—as laughter is an important aspect of exploring the core!),
working with a variety of methods culled from various traditions, including Yin yoga, Ashtanga-based
vinyasa yoga and Pilates. Modifications and options will be offered to afford every student the ability
to explore working more or less intensely within each of the postures and sequences.
Students of all levels and degrees of fitness are welcome and encouraged.
